Safe Exam Browser can’t be installed on the following devices:
- Smartphones: this includes iPhones, Android devices, and any other mobile OS devices
- iPads
- Chromebooks.
- Antivirus software
- Some antivirus software may not allow Safe Exam Browser to lock down the computer.
Antivirus
The following antivirus software will need to be temporarily disabled or uninstalled when using Safe Exam Browser:
Adjust your Laptop settings
To avoid problems during your exam, you may need to change the sleep and region settings.
Sleep settings
- Windows
- Click the Start menu, then search for Power & sleep settings.
- Under On battery power, turn off after, select 1 hour.
- Mac
- Click the Apple icon > System Preferences > Energy Saver > Battery.
- Turn off Enable Power Nap while on battery power.
- Under Turn display off after, select 1 hour.
Windows region settings
If you have a Windows laptop, set your region to the location where you’ll be sitting your exam.
- Click the Start menu, then search for Region settings.
- Under Country or region, select the location.
Test the Exam
- Download and run the by double-clicking the Exam Browse Launch File
- Log in using your LIV Candidate ID and password and follow the prompts (Check your exam registration email.)
- In Dashboard, Click "View Exam" to start the exam
- Complete the sample test to ensure you can easily take an Exam on your device.
- To exit the test once you’ve finished:
- if using Windows, press Ctrl + Q.
- if using Mac, press Command + Q.
